Job Description
The Mechanical Engineer will support major utilities design and construction projects including performing mechanical engineering analysis and design, establishing project design requirements, design criteria, and estimating assumptions, directing design consultants, supporting construction and commissioning efforts, interfacing with clients customers, consultants, and construction firms.
Duties:
- Responsible for leading design teams for HVAC/Project management for a number of varied projects in the public and private sectors.
Provide and coordinate mechanical design output and assist the Associate Director.
- Develops probable construction cost estimates for projects within the department.
- Prepares complex design computations in quantity estimates. May serve as an on-sight project representative
- Performs complex technical work in support of project work.
- Recommends appropriate actions to ensure compliance with all local regulations.
- Significant-level exercise of judgement is required on details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptions of engineering alternatives
- Preparing technical proposals and reports
