Portfolio Analyst - Insurance - Salary Negotiable - Dubai. Our multinational client, a blue chip insurance company, has a vacancy for an Analyst to join one of their busiest work units. The role reports to the manager of the business centre and will ensure that the successful applicant becomes a vital member of the team.The principal focus of the role is to provide statistical information and analysis to the management, and you will, therefore, have responsibility for ensuring that appropriate data is collected and added to the system, and that periodic and ad hoc reports are produced in a timely and effective manner. You will ensure that the systems are appropriate for the extraction and analysis of data for all lines of the personal lines book. The design and production of new and appropriate forms for the measurement and monitoring of the business will form an important part of the role. Analytical work regarding the insurance markets in the region and the company’s competitive position in those markets will be another focus, as will the analysis of market trends and identification of new business product opportunities. In order to be considered for this role, you must be educated to at least degree standard in finance or accounting from a recognised institution and ideally you should have an MBA. A minimum of two years experience in financial or cost accounting or an analytical role is essential. Ideally, you will have between 2 and 5 years experience in insurance, and exposure to the personal lines business or underwriting will be advantageous. You should be very proficient in MS Office programs, with particular skills in Excel. You must be able to demonstrate success in previous analytical work as well as the ability to implement solutions for identified problems.
