Accounting Manager - Up to AED 35,000, Abu Dhabi. If you would like to join a world-class organisation and have worked previously within a higher education environment, our client would love to meet you. We are seeking a motivated, proactive individual who will work within the finance team, helping to develop the organisation through its rapid growth start-up phase. You will report to the Assistant Controller and play an integral role in the development of financial systems. The role will be a real mixture of low-level and high-level tasks during these earliest stages of start-up and as the organisation grows you will contribute to new areas of finance and accounting as they develop. You will be expected to contribute to ongoing routine financial maintenance as well as to the planning, development and implementation of all financial systems and business processes. At present you can expect to work on general ledger maintenance, monthly updating of working trial balance, AP and AR, bank reconciliations, payroll reconciliations and account analysis for multiple GL accounts, as well as the preparation of internal financial statements and periodic budget preparation. As the organisation develops, your activities will become more specialised and you may contribute to student billing and receivables, financial aid, departmental allocations and research and grants accounting. To be considered for this role you must be degree educated in finance or accounting and preferably with CPA or MBA. US GAAP experience, strong analytical skills, previous experience within a higher education or non-profit organisation and excellent team work and communication skills are essential.
