Contracts Manager - UAE national
at Hays in Abu Dhabi
Job Details:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Contracts Manager job to work within one of Abu Dhabi's largest real estate developers. The role offers great opportunity for a UAE national to expand his experience within the market and to direct and control all commercial and contractual matters relating to projects across three main business units whilst identifying commercial, contract and construction risks and opportunities.
Responsibilities will involve:
•Responsible for providing timely and cost effective contractual advice to the senior management
•Lead and manage effectively post contractual administration by external consultants
•Provide professional advice in the selection of the appropriate contract type to ensure the most effective commercial approach is used for securing contract services
•Review and validate the disputes/claims of contractors and resolves these issues in the highest standard of business ethics and fairness to ensure satisfactory settlements
•Oversee the compilation of individual contract and tender documentation packages to ensure proper administrative control and compatibility with audit requirements
•Participate in regular tender committee and review all action requests for compliance with contracting and policies and procedures, propose alternative commercial approaches and provide top management with advice
•Provide relevant information and advice to support the development of a sound departmental business plan
•Lead, motivate, develop and assess the assigned team to achieve business objectives and grow capability
•Develops negotiation strategy and leads team in contract negotiations to ensure cost minimisation and conducts periodic review of market commercial analysis to ensure up to date knowledge of resource cost(market prices)
•Participate in regular tender committee and review all action requests for compliance with contracting policies and procedures
Essential requirements:
Educational Qualifications, ideally a professional qualification in engineering, specific knowledge of contract laws, FIDIC and INCO terms with at least 10 years experience in a senior management role with excellent written and verbal communication in english and arabic.
