Full-time PRINCIPAL

at OMAN LNG in GCC

Oman LNG – Job Opportunity. PRINCIPAL OF OMAN LNG HAS SCHOOLS. Oman LNG invites qualified candidates to apply for the above position. The position is for a term of 5 years and will be based in the Wilayat of Sur, Sultanate of Oman.
The main purpose of the job:

  • To ensure the development of the children in the OLNG HAS Schools according to accredited curricula in both English and Arabic and to the highest educational standards in preparation for life as productive and fulfilled members of society whilst also leading to qualifications which satisfy National and International standards for entry to higher education. The incumbent will be responsible for the following activities:
  • Develop policy recommendations and strategic plans covering all aspects of the school’s mission, key objectives and operations.
*Evaluate, develop and ensure delivery of the school’s educational programmes for all grades and language streams consistent with the requirements of the Omani Ministry of Education’s Inspectorate and accredited by a recognised accreditation body.
  • Act as Secretary to the Board of Trustees; prepare agenda and required documents for the meetings; report to the Board of trustees as Headmaster of the Schools.
  • Take responsibility for the preparation and control of the Schools’ Budget.
  • Implement the Board of trustees policies and procedures.
  • Provide educational and administrative leadership within the schools.
  • Supervise academic and administrative activities of all departments and programmes within the Schools, including all educational, social and recreational activities associated with the schools’ activities.
  • Act in accordance with the policies established by the Board on applications for student admission and all instances of student discipline.
  • Take all reasonable measures to ensure the health, safety and welfare of students, faculty and staff while on the school’s property or under its supervision.
    Qualification and Technical knowledge base:
    1. Degree in Education or similar professional qualification for the position of the Principal.
    2. Minimum of 10 years’ experience of which 4 years should be as a headmaster, or in an equivalent position, in a bilingual school.
    3. Excellent communication skills.
    4. The candidate must have experience in teaching and/or supervising a pre-IGCSE School.
    5. The candidate must have experience in teaching and leadership in a School following the IGCSE curriculum in a wide range of subjects, including the core subjects of mathematics, the 3 sciences and English.
    6. A Visionary leader with the interpersonal skills to lead, mentor and motivate a mixed nationality staff.
    7. Working experience in Oman or the Middle East is highly preferred.
    8. Skilled in the use of MS Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
