Project Quantity Surveyor

Designation: Project Quantity Surveyor
Reports To: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Interfaces with: Project Managers, Project Engineering Staff, Suppliers, Subcontractors, Clients,
Function/Role: responsible for commercial and quantity surveying activities on site.
Duties & Responsibilities:
-Preparation of accurate Payment applications
-Check subcontractor & supplier accounts
-Identifying & handling variations & additional works
-Monitor production and waste
-Assist in resolving measurement and rate disputes early
-Operate within commercial procedures
-Understand Contract and Tender requirements
-Timely settlement of final Account
-Prepare detailed claims for payment in accordance with the conditions of contract ensuring all claims are fully documented with supporting details.
-Ensure that, in conformance with Conditions of Contract, Company’s interest are with regards to expenditure and income, protected at all times.
-Responsible for establishing a system of financial control on a monthly basis for reporting and forecasting cost against allowances.
-Responsible for reporting on expenditure and forecast draw down against and revision of CTC.
-To organize, manage and train junior commercial staff
-Produce accurate Bills of Quantities and perform quantity cross checks as & when required.
-Process the necessary project insurance claims
-Directly contribute to the preparation of subcontract enquiries & ensures that the necessary quality management systems requirements are included within the sub-contract agreement.
-Responsible for establishing a system of financial control on a monthly basis for reporting & forecasting cost against allowances.
-Monitor the implementation of the variation procedures in line with the contract requirements ensuring that all variations are accurately estimated, authorized & processed with any relevant supporting documentation retained.
Education & Training:
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering/Quantity Surveying
- Mandatory knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of Primavera and Construction Computer Software is a plus
Experience: Minimum 5 years experience in the MEP Construction Industry
Languages: Fluency in English, Additional Language is a plus
Skills/Ability: Good Communication skills; Good Computer skills; Team player; Good Analytical Skills; Good Understanding of Method of Measurement; Ability to meet targets; Good Planning & Problem Solving Skills; Innovative & Self-motivated
